Your comments. I really appreciated the distinction you made between helping children for when they become adults and helping them become God's people now in their young age. What a powerful (God's power) thing when our children (and in my case grandchildren) become God's people in their childhood. What a difference they will make among their friends, acquaintances, and classmates. Classrooms, playgrounds, etc. would be transformed.
On another note: I am impressed that I do not really know what I will be doing in Kenya. God knows. I must be wide open to His wisdom and Holy Spirit empowering to respond to situations and persons about which I know very little. That condition and situation is exciting in that we will be agents of God's grace.
This is an account of some of the ways God is at work in Africa, through the eyes of a small prayer team traveling from Greenville, Illinois to Kenya, Africa -- led by Doug and Margie Newton, founders of Mary's Place. Doug is Senior Pastor of the Greenville Free Methodist Church, where Margie also serves as the Director of Prayer Ministries. Other members of the team are: Dan Jewett, Christie Kessinger, Anita Kauth, Jim Walter, and Lori Gaffner.
