After some minor mechanical problems with the plane to Mombasa (that were solved BEFORE we left the ground, thankfully!), we arrived in Mombasa, then boarded a bus for Malindi. A 2 1/2 hour bus ride with the missionaries and their families was hot, but a great way to connect with them -- and a great way to see the Kenyan countryside and the PEOPLE.
We're getting ready for an orientation meeting with the whole group (by the way, we are staying at a resort called Turtle Bay -- we'll post pictures later today), then our team will meet for a time of prayer before dinner and Doug and Margie's first teaching session.
More later. God's grace and peace to you all.
This is an account of some of the ways God is at work in Africa, through the eyes of a small prayer team traveling from Greenville, Illinois to Kenya, Africa -- led by Doug and Margie Newton, founders of Mary's Place. Doug is Senior Pastor of the Greenville Free Methodist Church, where Margie also serves as the Director of Prayer Ministries. Other members of the team are: Dan Jewett, Christie Kessinger, Anita Kauth, Jim Walter, and Lori Gaffner.
Thank you for the updates and pictures! You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless each of you. Keep moving forward!!!!
