A Long but Good Day

It's hard to believe that we have only been in Africa for less than 20 hours (Doug and Dan have been here for a little over two days).  Our plane arrived in Nairobi around 3:30 a.m., and Doug and Dan arrived from Rwanda about an hour later or so.  By the time we went to "bed," the birds were singing because it was time to get up!  We all slept for a few hours, had lunch together, had a good time of prayer together, and then gathered for dinner with Mike Reynen and several of the missionaries who will be traveling on the same plane as we are tomorrow morning to Mombasa.

It is safe to say that we are all very humbled and excited with the wonderful opportunities that God is placing before us -- opportunities for deep spiritual connections, genuine love and support, sharing in God's power and grace to change lives.  We look forward to truly getting to know the missionaries and their families, and pray that God would use us as HE chooses.

Here are a few more pictures.  Just pretend that you're in them with us.  In a very real way, you ARE.  We are here because of your love, support and prayers.

Lunch outside a mall in Nairobi, where Christie just might have been able to do a little shopping:)

Jim successfully obtains a VISA into Kenya!  Fortunately, so did the rest of us!  Christie and I got our first stamps on our passports.
